Heroes, chapter 6: Better Halves

I neglected to post my comments on this week's Heroes, due to Halloween, etc. Turns out to be a good move, because I have since stumbled across a great site for recaps, and it discusses much of what I'd bring up anyhow.
TV Blend recap.

I sure hadn't put 2-and-2 together that the poker guys were the same guys Niki's alter-ego slaughtered until I read the recap. Good stuff, and I can't wait until next week.

Thanks for the recap, Kevin. I was afraid that you had given up on the show. ;-)

A couple things stuck out to me in this episode:

(1) Is Nikki dead? No, can't be. But will she be good or evil? Also, why did her alter-ego need Nikki to climb up in the attic to retrieve the bag? It was obviously the alter-ego that put it there. Further, why did the alter-ego wait 6 months (or however long D.L. was in jail) to now try to run away from D.L. Wouldn't it had been easier right after D.L. got caught? Story there somewhere. Also, were those other bodies already buried in the desert D.L.'s old gang?

(2) Mikah has GOT to have some super-powers now that we know that both his parents have some. I hope he does, and I hope it's cool.

(3) Hiro has jumped forward in time and has stopped time, but he hasn't mastered going back in time yet. We know he does in the future, since he came to see Peter on the subway. But why didn't he tell Peter the cheerleader's name? Didn't he know it? I think it's a marketing ploy. I mean "Save Claire Bennet. Save the World" just doesn't have the same ring to it. ;-)

(4) Also, when Hiro and Ando spotted the gun under the table, why didn't Hiro just stop time and go over and take the gun away. I guess that maybe the bad guy was holding it, so he would know that it was gone. Also, if they did that, then we wouldn't have had the bathroom scene where they hear Nikki kill the poker game.

(5) I just KNEW that Eden would turn out to be evil. It does provide an interesting twist to the story. Does she (and Horned Rimmed Glasses guy) know Sylar? Is Sylar on their side?

(6) So, Suresh is leaving to go back to India. He either will decide to come back once he gets to the airport (or get delayed enough to come back) or will make it to India and then return very, very soon. And to answer your question last week, Kevin, about what purpose does Suresh play? Well, duh, he's the narrator. ;-)

(7) If you want my opinion on who's expendable, I would vote for Simone. They need her to get that last piece of the comic book, but she really has no signifigance in the storyline. But that may change.

(8) I missed Nathan and Matt in this episode but it looks like they will be back next week. Can't wait to see Hiro and Ando meet up with D.L. and Micah.

Remember that November is Sweeps month, so there should be some really exciting episodes the next few weeks.

Good stuff, Jim.

I, too, always suspected Eden wasn't just an innocent neighbor. She seemed too nice and naive. By the same token, I'm still not convinced Horn Rimmed Glasses guy is bad. They try too hard to make him look creepy, so I'm suspecting he's actually good to some extent.

My guess is this Sylar character is the evil version of Peter. Peter is able to channel other people's powers, and perhaps Sylar is killing people to gain their powers? Maybe Horn Rimmed Glasses dude is tracking down all these people to learn their powers and monitor them? Who knows.

I don't think we've seen the end of Nikki. Especially since Hiro plans to go back in time for his "do over". Assuming she does live, it will be interesting to see how her powers play into this, because her alter-ego isn't really a "power" if she can't channel it. I definitely agree Mikah is bound to have powers. I'm interested to see where DL plays into this. His character seems cool.
